Verne
About Verne
Verne is known primarily for not being very well known.
He is not particularly fond of explaining why he is so short. Or why he is pale as a ghost. Or why he has no arms. Or why mentioning his height causes his floating gloves to clench with barely restrained fury.
He also avoids explaining how his magic can be unbelievably powerful in one moment and completely useless in the next. He does not cast spells the traditional way. In fact, he does not seem to know how to cast spells properly at all. He simply waves his gloves around, shouts whatever impressive-sounding nonsense enters his mind, and hopes reality understands what he meant.
Somehow, it usually does.
As for why he is so incredibly talented, mysterious, handsome, and generally awesome—Verne is more than happy to explain that part. Repeatedly. Usually without being asked.
The truth is that nobody fully understands how Verne became the way he is.
Nobody besides Verne, of course.
Perhaps one day he will finally write a grand chronicle detailing the events that transformed him into the small, floating, armless magician the world now knows. It would undoubtedly be dramatic, beautifully written, completely accurate, and only slightly exaggerated.
Until then, there is not much more that can be said about him.
Verne lost more than he is willing to admit. Whatever happened changed his body, his magic, and the way he sees himself. Yet beneath the oversized robe, the expensive hat, and the endless theatrical confidence, he is still moving forward.
Still exploring.
Still casting spells he does not understand.
Still looking for bees.
And, most importantly, still making the most of whatever he has left.
