About Hunter Cook
The Verne Chronicles was written by Hunter Cook.
Hunter Cook grew up in rural New York and is currently a college student. What began as a way to fill time in college eventually turned into the VERNE CHRONICLES!!!
Verne first showed up (unofficially) in Derpy D, a lighthearted, chaotic take on Dungeons & Dragons which was hosted by the illustrator Tobyn Hillabush. Verne was a gambling man's dream. All of his damage came completely from gambling and he survived by pure luck.
Verne drew inspiration from Blastermind from Skylanders and Caine and Kinger from The Amazing Digital Circus, while still being something entirely of his own. Verne wears Hunter's personal favorite black-and-green color scheme.
As the stories grew, so did the world around Verne. What began as a character at a game table became an ongoing collection of strange places, risky magic, and adventures worth following. Many normal characters joined Verne (also very normal).
Hunter is very grateful to work with Tobyn Hillabush who is one of his best friends. His creativity, humor, and illustrations help bring the world of The Verne Chronicles to life.
